Alright, so it’s been a couple of months since I wrote anything here. I know I disappeared for a bit, but things have been relatively alright, so there wasn’t much drama to share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I took a week off recently, a proper vacation. And during that time, Klaus had to work directly with the team in my absence. Guess what happened? He finally experienced what it’s actually like working with them. A few of my teammates mentioned that he was being pushy and acting all weird. Even they started understanding what I was going through on a daily basis \ud83d\ude05<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sweetest Validation \ud83d\udcac<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The team actually pinged me saying they missed me and wanted me back ASAP. I literally had these messages from them. That felt really good, not gonna lie. The interim PO who covered for me was like, “dude this guy is crazy!” So yeah, that validation hit different. It wasn’t just me dealing with impossible expectations after all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back to Reality (But Calmer) \ud83c\udf0a<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I came back, and for now the water seems a little still. Not perfect, but manageable. I had to handle some work that got messed up during my absence, but so far so good. Nothing’s actively on fire, which honestly feels like a win in my book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s the interesting part though. Klaus is going on vacation starting next week, and from February till May he’ll be on parental leave. That’s months without that constant pressure hovering over everything. In the meantime, I’m seriously thinking about changing teams. I want to go back to an IC role. No more people management drama, just me and my actual work. Let’s see how that goes. I’m already talking to one of the managers, so fingers crossed \ud83e\udd1e<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vacation Vibes \ud83c\udfe0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Overall things are okay right now. I do have some work lined up, but honestly I don’t feel like doing much of anything. It’s vacation season and my brain just wants to chill a little. I actually requested a couple of weeks of WFH and it got approved. That felt nice. There’s something peaceful about being at home for a while, working in your own space, moving at your own rhythm without the office chaos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planning My Exit Strategy \u2728<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I’m actually looking forward to Klaus going on vacation. No idea why, but I genuinely feel like I’ll be able to breathe a little. LOL! \ud83d\ude04 But seriously, in that time frame I’m planning to move to a different team and transition into that IC role. The goal is to have everything sorted by the time he’s back from parental leave, so I’m already in a completely different chapter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What This Taught Me \ud83d\udca1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You know what this whole experience showed me? Sometimes people need to walk in your shoes to understand what you’ve been dealing with. My team got it after just one week with Klaus. That’s all it took for them to realize the daily pressure I’d been navigating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And sometimes you just need a little breathing room to plan your next move strategically. That’s exactly where I am right now. Planning, staying patient, and getting ready for whatever comes next. The chaos taught me resilience, but it also taught me when it’s time to move on \ud83c\udf1f<\/p>\n\n\n\n
