Lately, I’ve been thinking about building a simple blogging platform, something like Bearblog. I even checked out a few alternatives to see what\u2019s out there:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. lmno.lol<\/a> \u2014 Pretty good, but still in the early stages<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. fika.bar<\/a> \u2014 Tried logging in but got stuck with an “Error loading fika.” message \ud83d\ude15<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. rentry.co \u2014 Just a markdown editor, nothing more<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    There are a few others, but honestly, none of them really hit the mark for me. They’re okay, but not great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As someone who used to develop Android apps and websites, I want to dive back into coding with a fresh project. These days, I work full-time in cybersecurity and cloud, so I figured building something like this would be a good challenge \ud83d\udcaa and a perfect way to learn by doing. Hosting it on the cloud \u2601\ufe0f will definitely bring some interesting hurdles and tackling those will help me improve my understanding of both product development and infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I\u2019m a fan of keeping things simple. Vanilla HTML and CSS with no frameworks, just the classic approach \ud83c\udfa8. For the backend, I’m thinking Python with Django might be a solid fit. It\u2019s been a while since I coded seriously, so this will be a nice way to refresh my skills and build something meaningful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I really enjoy small tools and projects like these because they’re fun and manageable. At the same time, I don\u2019t want to get stuck maintaining a single product forever. My goal is to keep moving, exploring new ideas, and starting lean. Once the project reaches a certain point, I’d rather focus on infrastructure challenges like scaling, caching, and load balancing \u2699\ufe0f and leave the day-to-day development to someone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
